En cuclillas

Photobucket
En cuclillas.

This drawing was one of my first ones. It is so simple, and actually incomplete. Many people are drawn to this particular drawing. In Flickr is my most viewed image of them all. As basic as it is, it represents a great part of my works.

Euclid of Alexandria, father of Geometry

Euclid
Euclid of Alexandria.

This was actually drawn for a present. I currently don't posses it. Though I saved a copy of the sketch in order to make another one in the future. Note that Euclid is drawing an actual geometry figure from the real Euclid.

I made it with pastels, and finished it in an hour.

Maya Vision Serpent

Maya Vision Serpent.

The Maya imagery is complex and beautiful. It is highly decorated with indigenous motifs. In this case, it is the Maya Vision Serpent. This serpent appeared when invoked during a sacred ceremony. A portal would open to the Otherworld, and an ancestor or an ancient ruler would appear from the mouth of the Vision Serpent.

Nude woman with a feather.

Nude woman with a feather.

This was done in a lapse of two nights. I wanted to create an image of a nude woman, but from a classy perspective. It was done entirely in pencil.

Entrapment

Entrapment

This is how a view women, from a feminist perspective, as being trapped by a male-dominant society. I believe this society is deteriorating in part because males won't let go the power grip. Done with charcoal fig.

K'inich Janaab Pakal I

Photobucket
Pakal I

He was the most famous ruler of the Maya, he governed Lakamha, today known as Palenque, Chiapas, in southern Mexico.

I like to draw historical figures. In this case it is a young Pakal. Pakal had many monuments portraying him, at all ages. So is easier for me to recreate Pakal at any any.

This was done in charcoal.
